I came to l’Ancre because I was depressed. I hadn’t attended school for a number of months and I was demotivated by the challenges I had with math. L’Ancre is a family environment which is better adapted to respond to the needs of students in difficulty.
What will I remember the most when I leave l’Ancre? How they saved me! Without l’Ancre, I clearly wouldn’t be here today. I have learned that kindness and getting to know someone, this is what’s important.
In a few years, I will remember the way that the teachers and educators were involved in our lives and how much they wanted us to succeed
Science is my favourite subject because we do cool things that you don’t do at normal schools. And don’t want to be “normal
What do I like at l’Ancre? Everything! I can be myself. I admire people around me and I would love to have people like that around me forever.
I like that it feels like family and also the fact that you feel right at home when you are at l’Ancre
At normal schools, teacher, like students, are more focused on themselves and their things. At l’Ancre, teachers and students are close, everyone helps each other and motivates one another
Before l’Ancre, I went to four different schools. Basically, I had no self-confidence, 1% in my report cards and a lack of motivation in life. At l’Ancre, it’s a feeling of joy. You feel loved, you know that you can succeed. The support makes each student feel important, especially since you know there are people who believe in you.
L’Ancre is friendlier than other schools and they seem proud that we are with them this year. L’Ancre makes you feel better: you have a teacher just for you and you feel less embarrassed and it's fun.
“I will remember that wonderful energy and the spirit of brotherhood that reigned at l’Ancre”
“What difference did l’Ancre make in my life? My self-confidence, my grades, my problems. They taught me how to handle my difficulties and how to resolve them. Thanks to this self-confidence, I successfully passed two job interviews!”
